Help w/ built up cabs, Granite (http://tanbrown.org) and (http://maplered.com) gap over DW
Due to issues that I won't go into here, we've determined that our cabinets MUST be built up 5/8" in order to be equal/level with the minimum height 36" slide-in range. Granite installer will be using 5/8" strips to do this. (Really we only need only 1/2" more but using 5/8" will give clearance for cove molding to cover the plywood).
Issue is this: The 5/8" strip will not be going on top of the dishwasher, so once the 3cm Granite (http://tanbrown.org) is installed, there will be a 5/8" gap between Granite (http://tanbrown.org) and (http://maplered.com) dishwasher (see pic). What do you normally do about this? I can't put molding there like I will around the rest of the perimeter cabinets because the dishwasher has a vent on the top and (http://maplered.com) the trim will warp in no time.
The attached picture shows a mockup of what I'm talking about. The plywood on both sides of the dishwasher depicts the 5/8" buildup. The board across the top (tape holding it in place) is where the Granite (http://tanbrown.org) will go. You can see the gap I'm talking about.
Can you help? Granite is suppose to be installed much later today. I haven't mentioned this issue to the installer yet because I just noticed it.
